Background

Fletcher King act as planning consultants on behalf of the freehold owner of The Circle; a substantial residential-led mixed-use complex providing offices, retail, cafés, and gym / spa on the ground-floor, 300 residential units on the upper floors, and a basement car park. The iconic post-modernist building is statutory (Grade II) listed and forms part of the Tower Bridge Conservation Area.

 

Client brief

To achieve planning permission and listed building consent for extensions at roof level on each of the quadrants of the central circus to create four residential units with private external space.

 

Outcome

Based on a devised planning strategy, a series of planning permissions and listed building consents were secured for four luxury penthouse apartments with substantial roof terraces and balconies with stunning panoramic views across the Central London skyline.
